St. Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanner Review

The hype behind this product was getting the best of me. I had read about it in magazines prior to it's launch and when it finally hit the stores, It was NEVER in stock.

Low and behold, I snagged the last one on the shelf last week at Sephora and since everyone kept asking as I was checking out "Let me know how that works" & "Let me know if it's good", I decided to give you my honest opinion:

First of all, I feel like its important to tell you that I thrive on instant gratification, who of us doesn't? And self tanner in my opinion, is one of the fastest and easiest ways to feel instantly better due to the glow and dare I say, imperfection blurring that you get from darker skin. This being said, gradual tanner is usually NOT my thing. But I did want to give this product a test spin so here it goes:

1. Keep in mind: It's GRADUAL (did I mention G-R-A-D-U-A-L)....you would get quicker delivery from a carrier pigeon and like I already mentioned, I like more of an instant tan.

2. You put on in the shower and everywhere you apply the product, will get tan: I thought this would be wildly convenient, since I love to multi task in the shower. However you have to shut the water off, apply and wait 3 mins. Be sure your not too wet, because it makes it alittle difficult to evenly apply and It made me feel like I was wasting too much of the product. I also got alittle cold while waiting to "rinse" off.

3. Rinse and GO: It definietly didn't leave my skin sticky, but you could still smell that "self tanner" scent mildly throughout the day. I did end up relatively streak free, but did I mention it was gradual? By the next day I wasn't really that much darker, so Im assuming you have to just keep using until you hit your desired "malibu barbie" color.

PROS: All in all, I would say this product is for the self tanner novice, who perhaps after a QT mishap from the 80's, is nervous to jump back in to self tanning and wants a fool proof way to make it happen. It does exactly what it claims to do. Gradually tan you during your normal showering routine. It's clean and easy.

CONS: It's gradual and does not get very dark. It is NOT for the person looking for immediate glow or quick results. I would pass on this product unless you have a lot of extra time on your hands or like to wait over a week to see a tan.
